Bespoke Doors Wisbech

Turner & Co Bespoke Joinery Ltd handcraft bespoke timber front doors, stable doors, French doors, bi-fold doors and internal doors for homes across Wisbech, designing each one at our Ipswich workshop and building through to spray finish before it leaves. Wisbech's Georgian streets along North Brink and South Brink, among the best preserved in the country, call for close attention to panel proportion and fanlight detail, while stable doors suit the cottages and farmhouses in the surrounding villages and bi-fold doors work well for kitchen extensions further from the centre. Every project runs from consultation and technical drawings through to manufacture and fitting, with realistic timelines discussed upfront once the design is agreed.

Turner & Co Bespoke Joinery Ltd handcraft bespoke timber front doors, stable doors, French doors, bi-fold doors and internal doors for homes across Wisbech, each one designed at our Ipswich workshop and built through to spray finish before it leaves.

Wisbech is known for its Georgian streets along North Brink and South Brink, among the best preserved in the country, sitting alongside Victorian terraces and newer homes further from the centre. A door built for a Georgian townhouse calls for a different approach to panel proportion and ironmongery than one going into a modern semi, so we design to the property rather than to a single template.

Whether your home sits on one of Wisbech’s Georgian streets or somewhere more modern nearby, we’ll design a door that suits it properly from the first conversation. Tell us about your project and we’ll take it from there.

A Timber Door For Every Kind Of Wisbech Property

Georgian townhouses along the Brinks were built with proportion and detail in mind, and a replacement door needs to carry that same care rather than look like an afterthought. That’s not just how we see it either: Historic England’s listing for 8 and 9 North Brink describes the street as one of the best preserved Georgian thoroughfares in the country, which gives some sense of the standard we’re working to when a door goes onto one of those properties.

We make front doors, stable doors, French doors, bi-fold doors and internal doors, and the right choice usually comes down to the property and how the room is used day to day rather than a fixed rule.

Front Doors

Every front door starts with the property itself. We look at proportions, ironmongery and colour together, then build a door that fits the house rather than the other way round. On the Brinks that means working closely with the original panel layout and fanlight detail, while properties further from the centre give us more room to try cleaner lines and different finishes.

Stable Doors

A useful option where you want the flexibility to open just the top half without swinging the whole door wide, which suits cottages and farmhouses in the villages around Wisbech particularly well.

French And Bi-Fold Doors

Good choices for connecting a room to a garden or patio. Bi-fold doors give the widest opening when it’s needed and fold back neatly the rest of the time, which makes them a popular option for kitchen extensions in particular.

How Long Does A Bespoke Timber Door Take?

Timelines vary depending on the design and the current workload at the workshop, so we’ll always give you a realistic estimate once we’ve discussed your project. What stays consistent is the process itself: a proper consultation, technical drawings, manufacture and spray finishing at our Ipswich workshop, then careful fitting on site.

We’re happy to talk through timings before you commit to anything.
