Bespoke Joinery Woodbridge

Turner & Co Bespoke Joinery Ltd design and handcraft bespoke timber doors, windows, kitchens, fitted cabinetry, oak framed buildings and conservatories for homes across Woodbridge and the surrounding area, including Melton, Bromeswell and Martlesham. Made to measure at our own workshop from sustainably sourced timber, each project is designed around the property, from the proportions and detailing of older homes around Market Hill and the Thoroughfare to newer properties further from the town centre. Homeowners across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Essex and London have trusted us with projects ranging from individual doors and windows to complete kitchens and fitted joinery, with customers describing the experience as personal and professional from the first conversation through to fitting.

We cover all of Woodbridge

We cover Woodbridge and the surrounding area including: Melton, Bromeswell, Ufford, Bredfield, Hasketon, Martlesham, Sutton, Grundisburgh, Great Bealings, Waldringfield, Eyke, Rendlesham, Wickham Market and more.

Turner & Co Bespoke Joinery Ltd design and handcraft bespoke joinery for homes in Woodbridge and the surrounding area, including timber doors and windows, kitchens, fitted cabinetry, oak framed buildings, conservatories and garden rooms. Everything is made by our own team at our workshop rather than ordered in and adapted to fit a standard opening.

Woodbridge has a varied mix of properties within a relatively small area. Around the Thoroughfare and Market Hill, historic buildings sit side by side with properties from later periods, often with very different proportions and architectural details. Further out, detached homes and newer developments need a different approach again. Along the River Deben, the outlook can become part of the brief too, particularly where the position and proportions of new windows or a garden room can make better use of the setting.

We don’t start with a catalogue of standard designs and try to make them fit. We visit the property first and design the joinery around it. If you’re planning bespoke joinery in Woodbridge, tell us what you have in mind.

What Bespoke Joinery Do We Make For Woodbridge Homes?

Bespoke joinery for Woodbridge homes includes timber windows and doors, bespoke kitchens, fitted cabinetry, wardrobes and storage solutions, as well as conservatories, garden rooms, porches, pergolas, gazebos, larger oak framed structures and joinery for cart lodges and farm buildings.

Timber Doors And Windows

We make timber front doors, stable doors, French doors, bi-fold doors and internal doors, alongside casement and sash windows, all custom made to the individual opening.

For older properties on streets such as Cumberland Street and Church Street, that can mean paying close attention to the original panel layout, glazing bars, mouldings and proportions so replacements don’t look out of place against the rest of the house. Newer properties give us more freedom with the design, while still making the doors or windows specifically for the building.

Bespoke Kitchens And Fitted Cabinetry

Our kitchens, cabinets, shelving, wardrobes and storage units are made by hand to suit the room and how you want to use it. Because the cabinetry is made from scratch for the room, we aren’t restricted by standard cabinet widths or off the shelf layouts. We can build around chimney breasts, make proper use of alcoves and accommodate awkward or uneven spaces rather than trying to fill them with standard sized units.

Once the design is agreed, the cabinetry is manufactured and spray finished at our workshop before our team fits it in your home.

Oak Framed Buildings, Conservatories And Garden Rooms

These projects can range from a relatively simple timber porch through to a substantial garden room or oak framed addition to the house.

We design the structure around the property rather than starting with something from a brochure. How it joins onto the existing building will shape part of the design and we’ll also talk through how you actually want to use the finished space.

How Does a Bespoke Joinery Project Start?

We start with a visit to the property to understand what the room or opening needs. We measure on site and talk through what you want the finished joinery to look like and how you expect to use it.

From there, we produce the drawings and agree the details with you before making anything. We select timber suited to the job, then manufacture and spray finish the joinery at our workshop. Our own team then carries out the fitting once everything is ready.

What If My Property Is In The Woodbridge Conservation Area?

Bespoke cabinetry and joinery handcrafted by Turner & Co in Woodbridge

Being in the Woodbridge Conservation Area can affect what you’re able to change, although it does not automatically mean every replacement window or door needs planning permission.

Conservation areas can have additional planning controls, and Article 4 Directions can remove some permitted development rights for alterations such as replacement doors and windows. Listed buildings have separate requirements too, so it’s important to understand what applies to your property before new joinery is manufactured.

For older Woodbridge properties, we look closely at the existing joinery before drawing a replacement, particularly the proportions, glazing details, mouldings and other features that contribute to the character of the building. If you’re unsure whether permission or consent is needed, it’s best to check with East Suffolk Council before manufacture starts.

Why Use Turner & Co For Bespoke Joinery In Woodbridge?

Turner & Co is a family run business, with all of our joinery made at our own workshop rather than bought in from another manufacturer. The same team that takes the project through design and manufacture also handles the fitting, so the job stays with us from the first measurements through to installation.

We work with premium, sustainably sourced timber chosen to suit the particular job. Because we make such a broad range of joinery ourselves, you don’t need one company for the windows and another when you come to do the kitchen or add a garden room later on.

What Is It Like To Work With Us?

We can say plenty about how we make our joinery but what matters is how the finished job works out for the customer. Here’s what one customer had to say.
